Since its founding in 1932, the Winnetka Historical Society has been a vital community organization. Today it owns and has opened to the public two historic homes: The museum and headquarters at 411 Linden St., and the Schmidt-Burnham Log House, which is listed in on the National Registry of Historic Places.The Historical Society offers residents a chance to learn about Winnetka's history through exhibits at the museum. Volunteers are also accepted to help with building exhibits, research or organizing collections.
