Upcoming Events at the Winnetka Park District

Leprechaun Leap

Cannot wait for the beach season to start? You are in luck! Bring your swimsuit, towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, and do not forget the hand warmers and blankets down to Lloyd Beach on Saturday, March 15 from 12-2 pm. The average temperature of Lake Michigan in March is around 38 degrees. Think you are tough enough to withstand 38 degrees of cold water? Come test your bravery by taking a quick leap into the beast they call Lake Michigan. Everyone who takes the plunge will receive a Leprechaun Leap hoodie. After your daring journey into Lake Michigan enjoy corned beef, Green River Soda, hot chocolate, and coffee around bon fires across the beach.

Special thanks to community partners, Stormy’s Tavern & Grille, Northfield and Winnetka Current. Net proceeds will go to the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Foundation (NSSRF).

Mother/Son Date Night

What better way to get out of the house during ScreenBreak than by cutting loose with your special guy on Thursday, March 6 from 6-8:15 pm at the Skokie School Gyms and Cafeteria. It’s a night packed with dinner provided by the Grand, dancing, entertainment, special activities, and an ice cream bar!  All couples will head home with a photograph along with a goody bag for each little leprechaun. Fee is $60 for resident couples and $70 for non resident couples, and for additional children it is $15 residents / $20 non residents.
