The Holidays Are In Season This Weekend On The North Shore

A recap of holiday events around the North Shore this weekend.

Thursday
Northfield Tree Lighting
Join the Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce, area merchants, Village of Northfield representatives, the Northfield Park District and Northfield residents as they light the holiday tree.

Author Event: Peggy Wolff, Editor of Fried Walleye and Cherry Pie: Midwestern Writers on Food
Enjoy a delicious evening with Glencoe’s own Peggy Wolff, editor of the newly published anthology Fried Walleye and Cherry Pie: Midwestern Writers on Food. Ms. Wolff will speak about her inspiration for her book, about the genre of “Food Lit,” and about working with a diverse group of writers. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

Friday
Winnetka Tree Lighting
Usher in the holiday season with the annual Winnetka Tree Lighting at Metra Park, across the street from Winnetka Village Hall. There will be visitors from the North Pole and festive carolers in Victorian costumes, leading the singing as well as hot cocoa after the lighting ceremony.

Holiday Sleepy Storytime
Join The Book Stall staff for readings from their favorite holiday picture books old and new. Come right after the tree lighting at Train Station Park!

Saturday
