Parking in Hubbard Woods Will be Restricted This Week

Here's what you need to know this week in Winnetka and Wilmette.

Traffic Signal and Street Light Pole Painting Starting This Week: Hubbard Woods traffic signals, control boxes and steel street light poles will be painted beginning Sept. 16 and lasting throughout the next three weeks, according to the Winnetka Village Website. The intersections of Scott Ave. and Green Bay Rd.; Gage St. and Green Bay Rd.; and the southeast corner of Tower Ct. will be affected. Four light poles in the Scott Ave. parking lot and 18 light poles around town will also be painted. There will be temporary parking restrictions around the painting activity, so keep your eyes out, drivers. Contact the Water & Electric Department at 847-716-3558 with any questions or concerns.

Property Tax Appeal Seminar Set: Although a frank and in-depth seminar on property tax appeals doesn't seem like a rollicking way to spend your Wednesday night, it will definitely end up being incredibly useful for many people — and will save you a lot of headaches in the long run. The seminar is being sponsored by New Trier Township Assessor JoAnn Shrier Gordon and Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin. The seminar is set for Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the New Trier Township Office at 739 Elm St. in Winnetka. More information is available here.

Town Hall Stormwater Meetings: Residents are invited to join in a public discussion on the Winnetka Stormwater Management program. In-depth information on the plan is available here. Residents are encouraged to attend at least one of the two meeting this month after reading the information. The meetings will be held at the Community House in Matz Hall on Sept. 19 and Sept. 25, both at 6:30 p.m. More information is available here
