Nora Ephron's Sister to Speak at Book Stall's Event

Winnetka Village Board Meeting: The Winnetka Village Council will discuss the stormwater plan and a public safety video security system at their monthly meeting, which will be held on Tues. at 7 p.m. in Village Hall. The full agenda is available here

Free Open Gym: With no school Monday, help your kids run off some of that extra energy at the Skokie School's free open gym on Monday. Supervision will be provided. Kindergarten through third graders can come between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., and 4th through 8th graders can come 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. More information is available here.

Delia Ephron at the Book Stall: Delia Ephron, Nora Ephron's sister, speaks on their relationship and Delia's life as a novelist and screenwriter. The Event is set for Monday at noon at the Standard Club, and its sponsored by The Book Stall. Reservations can be made at (847) 446-8880.

Karaoke: Calling all wannabe rock stars! Rock House in Wilmette is hosting karaoke on Thursday from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. 

Curbside Leaf Collection Begins Monday: Winnetka's curbside leaf collection program will begin Mon. Oct. 14 and run through Mon. Dec. 2. With the program, residents can rake their leaves to the parkway just inside the edge of the curb, and Village crews will pick them up. The Village is asking residents to not rake leaves into the streets, which can clog storm sewers and can be slippery when wet.
