Senior Center Crochets For Chemo Patients

Volunteers met to make blankets for the cause.

Rhea Lukin, of Glenview; Brigitta Gasper, of Wilmette, and Irene Krawitz, of Glenview, were among the volunteers who participated in a “Crochet-In” at North Shore Senior Center’s Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Campus in Northfield on Friday, May 20. The event was a meet-and-greet for new and potential volunteers of the Share the Warmth Project, which benefits people who are undergoing chemotherapy. Project volunteers crochet borders for handmade fleece blankets that are given as gifts to local hospitals and treatment centers. Interested individuals or service groups who would like to participate in the Share the Warmth Project can call Maura Rogan at 847.784.6052 for more information. Instruction and materials are provided; all are welcome.
