Schakowsky Plans to Attend 'Kids Against Hunger' in Winnetka

Can you imagine packing 100,000 meals in less than eight hours?

According to Rich Lalley of the Rotary Club of Winnetka-Northfield, will be attending the packing event in Winnetka on Saturday.

From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. volunteers aim to pack 100,000 meals to ship to Nicaragua and local food pantries.

"This project is both a community service and international service project, in that it provides an opportunity for hands on service work while benefiting hungry children in Nicaragua, one of the world’s poorest countries," said Lalley. "It’s fantastic to have the opportunity for so many caring groups and individual citizens to come together at one time, working on a common goal- to provide a meal to 100,000 starving kids."
