  • Where: 999 Green Bay Rd, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: The class designed specifically for men and women over 50 is being led by nationally known strength conditioning expert and personal trainer Mark Cibrario and his assistant, Patricia Olsen-Prescott.

  • Where: 620 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka
  • Why Go?: Middle School and High School students can join the Winnetka Youth Organization, in the basement of the Winnetka Community House, in order to particpate in a pool tournament. Snacks and drinks will be provided!

  • When: Friday, August 17, 2012, 5:30 pm
  • Where: 690 Birch Rd, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: Pack up the kids and join Aitz Hayim for its annual Family Campfire Shabbat. There will be a sing along around the campfire, pizza and s'mores. Enjoy family games and relays. Socialize with friends and other families.Free admission, but reservations are required.

  • When: Saturday, August 18, 2012, 12:00 pm
  • Where: Longwood Ave & Hazel Ave, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: Participate in a challenging, hands-on race set up by Glencoe Boating Beach staff! Races last approximately 1 hour. Boaters are invited to stay for social events following the race. This regatta is free with paid beach admission or season token!

  • When: Saturday, August 18, 2012, 2:00 pm
  • Where: 320 Park Ave, Glencoe
  • Why Go?: Whether you have a Bernese dog or a Siamese cat, a beanbag frog or a stuffed panda, you can bring your favorite pet--real or imaginary--to the annual pet parade. Please note: All pets must have had their shots and be on a leash or in a crate or box. For children ages 4 and older with parent or caregiver. Registration is required; please call the Children's Department at 847.835.5056.

  • When: Saturday, August 18, 2012, 6:00 pm
  • Where: 985 Green Bay Rd, Winnetka
  • Why Go?: Come join the Winnetka Youth Organization's staff and teens as they host an open mic. Open to the community, this open mic is a showcase for teenage musicians, poets, and masters of the spoken word. Families, community members, and other teens are requested to join us and take part at Hubbard Woods!

  • When: Sunday, August 19, 2012, 1:00 pm
  • Where: 1140 Willow Rd, Winnetka
  • Why Go?: Come visit our c1830s log house! This unique house allows visitors to explore life as a pioneer in the 1850s. The original portion of the house remains nearly the same as when it was built in 1837. The 1917 addition showcases the Burnham family’s creativity and artistic abilities. Costumed docents provide tours of the house and history of its occupants. $5 adults $3 children (age 6-17). Free to Winnetka Historical Society members and children 5 and under.
