- Why Go?: Since last summer’s group exhibition, ZIA Gallery has welcomed 8 new artists: Melissa Jay Craig, Richard Laurent, Tim Liddy, Zoriah Miller, Dulce Pinzón, Jonathan Ricci, Fumiko Toda, and Nevada Wier. Their works range from Liddy’s trompe l’oeil, copper-constructed paintings of old game board box lids to Melissa Jay Craig’s handmade paper sculptures of mushroom books (currently growing up the gallery wall toward the exit sign).

- Why Go?: Spend an evening camping out with your family at Glencoe Beach! Beach staff provides hamburgers, hot dogs, pop and bottled water for an early evening cookout. After the sun sets, enjoy interactive musical show and roast marshmallows over a campfire. Coffee and cereal is provided at sunrise. All children must be accompanied by a parent. Children under the age of two are free. Beach closes to public at 5 p.m. on campout days. Rain date is August 10. Register online now with program #9112-1!

- Why Go?: At the open mics, teenagers are free to play music, read poetry, or perform spoken word, in front of their peers.

- Why Go?: The yard sale offers items such as baby strollers, bike seats, children's clothes, household items, sporting goods and furniture.

- Where: , Sheridan Rd & Tower Rd, Winnetka
- Why Go?: Families are invited to join the Winnetka Park District and Lakefront Staff, for a great way to spend Saturday, August 4 night at Tower Road Beach (Tower & Sheridan). Beginning at 7 pm families can start setting up their camp site. Grills will be available for families to prepare hotdogs, hamburgers, brats, etc. At dusk the final movie of our Summer Movie Series, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl will be shown thanks to our partnership with BMO Harris Bank. During the movie a bonfire will be supervised by Lakefront Staff and children will be able to roast marshmallows and make s’mores.

- Why Go?: Fine local food and beverage vendors will offer their cuisine in a festive family atmosphere at the Taste of the North Shore and Family Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5 at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Northfield.

- Why Go?: In cooperation with the Glencoe Chamber of Commerce, Amdur Productions proudly hosts the fifth annual Glencoe Festival of Art. This distinguished outdoor festival offers exceptional artwork from more than 120 acclaimed artists from around the world.
