Winnetka runners Marti Schuham and Ryan Cahill were among the top 1,000 finishers in Sunday’s Bank of America Chicago Marathon as 51 people from the Village finished the race, according to the official marathon website.
Schuham completed the 26 mile, 385 yard-course through downtown Chicago and the city’s neighborhoods in 631st place with a time of 02:56.53. Cahill placed 763th in 2:58.49. In all, 37,454 competitors accomplished the test. Their pace was just over 6:30 per mile.
Schuham, who was 2nd among women between 40 to 44 years old, was one of three Winnetkans to finish among the top 100 spots in their age group. Cahill placed 91st among men between 40 to 44 years old. Patty Carrel placed 42nd among women between 35 and 39 years old with a time of 03:16.27.
