North Shore Country Day School Sports Scoreboard

Field hockey has another strong week while boys golf remains undefeated on the season.

Field Hockey -  had a full week, going 2-1 over three games. The Raiders defeated Independent School League rival Woodlands Academy on Sept. 6 with a 6-1 win, but fell a day later to perennial state contender New Trier. North Shore rebounded for a 2-1 overtime win against Glenbrook South on Sept. 9

Boys Golf - North Shore had its two most challenging matches of the season this week, but remained undefeated in the young season. At Willow Hill Golf Course, North Shore and Northridge Prep ended in a 164-164 tie. Junior Nick McCall shot 36 to earn medalist honors.

Two days later, the Raiders eked out a 167-168 victory over Latin School of Chicago. Freshman Andrew Blechman came through in the clutch with a six-foot par putt on the final hole to give North Shore the win. McCall was again the match medalist after shooting 40. North Shore is 6-0-1 on the season now.

Girls Tennis - North Shore fell to University High and Lake Forest Academy in two dual matches last week. Junior Annie Morris, who plays No. 1 singles, was victorious against University High.

Volleyball - The Raiders had a tough week, falling to Francis Parker and defending regional champion Christian Liberty Academy in their two matches.

North Shore lost in a tight three-game match against Francis Parker, dropping an epic third game 26-24 after carrying the lead throughout most of the later stages. Junior Paige Jendrisak put down eight kills and sophomore Kaitlyn Johnson had four aces in the loss. Senior Katherine Simmons dished out 17 assists.

Cross-Country - Hannah Cunningham finished in 10th place at the Gordon Tech Invitational on Sept. 10, completing the three-mile course in 21 minutes, 54 seconds.
