Trevians win 7 on 7 Championships

Trevian Youth Football 8th graders win the 7 on 7  All American  Silver Division Championship Monday May 23rd at the Lake Barrington Field House.  In their first year of playing in the league, the Trevians were able to sweep through the playoffs to capture the title.  The game is passing only with no contact as the quarterback has only 4 seconds to release the pass.  The offense has five receivers utilizing precision routes against seven defenders comprised of linebackers and defensive backs. Using overall team speed and timely defense the Trevians prevailed a tight championship game 22-14 over the Chicago Eagles.   During league play teams were from all over Chicagoland area.  The Trevian team was comprised of boys from the Trevian Youth Football Program New Trier Feeder and Junior Midget Teams with players from Glencoe, Northfield, Winnetka and Wilmette.  The championship team consisted of Asher Bond, Dante Chakravorti, James Doan, Kevin Gerbie, Nick Krauskopf, Jake Manchester, Matt Montaquila, Cory Nagel, Ben Somers and Jake Weimer.  The team was coached by Rob Bond, Stuart Krauskopf and John Manchester.  The boys, all eighth graders were able to cap their junior high football experience with this championship.  Each boy was able to score during the course of the season.
