Winnetka Teacher Recognized by New Science Teacher Academy

John Pappas, a science teacher at Carleton Washburne School, is one of 14 Illinois science instructors honored.

 

Winnetka teacher John Pappas, 28, was recently selected as one of only 14 Illinois science teachers and one of 240 nationwide, to be honored as an Astellas-National Science Teachers Association fellow by the New Science Teacher Academy, Chicago Tribune reported. 

Pappas, who teaches at Carleton Washburne School, will receive assistance from trained mentors who teach in the same discipline, the opportunity to take part in web-based professional development and financial support to attend New Science Teacher Academy’s 2013 National Conference on Science Education in San Antonio, Chicago Tribune reported.
