Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: In the 4th grade, while living in London, I joined a private choir called the Capital Children's Choir. Every year, we made live recordings at the famed Abbey Road Studios, made infamous by The Beatles. In 2004, our choir was selected to sing back-up vocals for the Spice Girls reunion tour in London. We performed in front of 10,000 people each night for 12 shows at London's O2 arena. When I moved back to Chicago in 2005, I was anxious to recreate that opportunity. After a year of searching, I learned about the School of Rock in Evanston. I immediately signed up and started taking vocal and bass lessons. At School of Rock, I found a place where I fit in and can sing the music I want. It's an incredibly supportive community, and the instructors are the best. This winter, our band performed three Beatles concerts at local music venues, and I sang lead vocals on several numbers for more than 500 people. Joining School of Rock has helped me realize my dream and bring it to life. My "Key to Awesomeness" is to GO FOR IT! Never be afraid to chase your dreams. Nothing is impossible, if you want it badly enough. You should never give up trying to make it happen. And you will probably meet some really interesting people along the way!
