Reader Poll: Are Students Prepared for the ACT?

While Illinois scores are up from last year, the state's average is still lagging nationally.

While Illinois' High School Class of 2011 posted the highest average ACT score in a decade, only a quarter of those students scored high enough to be considered college-ready according to data released Wednesday. The state's average, 20.9 on a 36 point scale, also fell below the national average score of 21.1.
