Parents Warned to be Safe When Dropping Kids at School

Glencoe Public Safety will be ticketing all found violating parking signs at schools.

Glencoe parents are being advised by Public Safety to keep an eye on parking signs near schools when dropping kids off. Police stated that anyone found in non-compliance of the posted signs will be ticketed.

Police reports show that last week alone, two individuals were reported to Glencoe Public Safety last week for driving recklessly near schools.

An employee from Lincoln School reported to police that a woman in a black Porsche was driving recklessly near the school. The driver reportedly cut off several cars, stopped her vehicle in traffic and ran on foot into oncoming traffic while holding a child. The caller told police that the driver left her door open and put the child on a bus, then remained parked, stopping traffic, for several minutes.

A caller at West School reported that a female driving a Lexus left her car unattended on Apple Tree Ln. and reportedly pretended to be in the car pool lane. She then, according to the caller, abandoned her car and ran into the school to pick up her child.
