Obituary: Nona Cox, Former New Trier Teacher

Nona Cox, age 86 of Chicago was the best friend and sister of the late Adele M. Cox. 

Miss Cox received a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University, Chicago, IL and a Master’s degree from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL both in History, with sabbatical studies at Cambridge University, Cambridge, England and in China during the early 1970s.

Miss Cox was the former assistant to the late Governor & Ambassador Adlai Stevenson, II and the former teacher of U.S. History, Political Science and Modern China (1965 to 1983) at New Trier High School.

A memorial service is set for April 11 at 4 p.m. at the Donnellan Family Funeral Services, located at 10045 Skokie Boulevard in Skokie. Interment is private, and will be held at Calvary Cemetary at 301 Chicago Ave. in Evanston.
