Obituary: Dr. Charles R. Young, Former Glencoe School Superintendent
Young, District 35 Superintendent from 1968 – 1988, passed away on Nov. 18.
Dr. Charles R. Young, 83, formerly of Glencoe, passed away on Nov. 18.
The former District 35 Superintendent for 20 years started his teaching career in 1950 at Carrollton High School and was once ranked among the nation’s top 100 educators by an education trade publication, according to Northbrook.Suntimes.com.
He leaves behind his wife Marion, daughter Mary Otis and son Chris, who is an assistant superintendent for finance and operations for Glenview/ Northbrook School District 30, as well as seven grandchildren, Northbrook.Suntimes.com reported.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boston University School of Medicine, Amyloid Research Fund, 72 East Concord Street, K-503, Boston, MA 02118, according to Glencoe Public School District 35’s website.
