NTHS Softball Beats Evanston in 14-3 Win

The New Trier High School Girls Softball maintained their top seeded spot in the south division after defeating rival Evanston.

The New Trier High School softball team maintained their top seed in the Central Suburban League South Division with a 14-3 win over the Evanston Wildcats on Monday, the CSL Insider reported. Abbey Boyd and Alexa Caruso got back-to-back homeruns in the third inning. Boyd leads the team in runs-batted-in and is close eto hitting .500 this season.

"I wasn't thinking about hitting home runs today, I just like to hit line drives," Boyd told CSL Insider. "I never really think I need to go out and hit a homer. It's just that when you turn on a pitch, like I did, sometimes it just happens. It's exciting and it's crazy to be able to do it on back-to-back pitches like that. It was an inside pitch and I just turned on it. The wind's always weird at this field, and our team goal is always just to hit down and hit it hard. It's a proven success formula."
