NTHS Science Olympiad to Defend State Title

New Trier students will defend their state championship title for the eleventh year in a row.

The New Trier High School Science Olympiad team will be shooting for the state title in April — for the 11th time in a row.

The Varsity Science Olympiad team placed first at the Oakton Regional Science Olympiad Competition on March 16. The team medaled in every event, earning them a place at the April 20 state competition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The junior varsity team also won first place in their division.

Science Olympiad is one of the top science competitions in the country, with 6,400 teams participating nation-wide. In 2012, New Trier placed 5th in the U.S.
