New Trier Grad Hits iTunes Charts

Elizabeth Lyons, a New Trier grad and Winnetka native who moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University and pursue a career as a country singer, is at number eight on the iTunes country video chart and number 18 for all music genres. The song has sold 68,000 songs in nine months, with no money toward marketing, according to the Winnetka Talk. 

Lyons told Winnetka Talk that she started playing piano in kindergarten and sang in the choir at the family's church, the Kenilworth Union Church, the Winnetka Talk article states. In 2012, she released a six-song, self-titled album on iTunes, which ranked 42 on the iTunes national country album chart.
