New NTHS Winnetka Campus Principal Named

Denise Hibbard has been named the new New Trier High School Winnetka Campus principal.

Denise Hibbard, New Trier High School's Northfield Campus assistant principal, has been named the new Winnetka Campus principal, a position beginning this July.

District 203 Superintendent Linda Yonke announced Hibbard’s appointment Wednesday following an exhaustive search for the sophomore-senior campus principal, a press release from the school stated. Pending Board of Education approval, she will succeed

In 2006, Hibbard served as the principal of Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, California. The school was brand new at the time, and has since been named amoung the top high schools in California.

At New Trier, Hibbard oversees the adviser, orientation and student services programs at the freshman Northfield Campus.

“Denise has been an invaluable addition to our administrative team, and I am excited to see what she will do in this new leadership role,” Yonke said. “She truly loves working with students, parents, and staff, and she has made her mark with innovative projects both at New Trier and in California.”

“I am continually impressed by the faculty, staff, students and parents I encounter each day at New Trier,” Hibbard said. “This school is a special place, and I cannot wait to continue to work with the entire New Trier community as I take on this new challenge.”   

Hibbard holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in education from DePaul University. She participated in the Stanford Fellows Principal Program at Stanford University from 2009-2011.
