Write and Illustrate Your Own Picture Book

Local Author Steve Fiffer describes how he came up with the idea for an alphabet string--one sentence using all 26 letters of the alphabet in order, from A to Z--and worked with an artist to turn it into a book, ARCTIC BEARS CHASE.  Participants will create their own alphabet strings, using as many letters as possible.  As the children illustrate their sentences, we'll (gently) point out the descriptive words (adjectives) and the action words (verbs) as well as the objects (nouns) for an early introduction to the parts of speech.  What components do you need to make a long sentence? Limit 12 kids. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
