Silberstein Orthodontics’ Halloween Candy “Buy-Back” Provides Sweet Benefits For Local Schools & Charitable Organizations

HIGHLAND PARK, IL – October 31, 2011 - Every Halloween, kids go trick-or treating and come home with loads of chewy, sticky sugar-laden candy. All too often, days later, parents find themselves making appointments for bent wires or broken braces. For the ninth year in a row, Highland Park-based Silberstein Orthodontics is inviting the children in our community to share their Trick-or-Treat bounty, while at the same time, help to give back to a good cause. Kids can drop off their candy at participating schools in the Highland Park and Glencoe school districts for their candy to be weighed. Silberstein Orthodontics will then donate $1 per pound to each school to match the amount of candy their students collected. The total amount of candy collected in all schools will be matched by an additional donation to the Friends United for Juvenile Diabetes Research, a Highland Park-based organization that supports juvenile diabetes research. The candy collected, as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste, will be donated to the Leukemia Research Foundation for their annual holiday celebration. Since 2003, Silberstein Orthodontics has donated over $32,000 to local schools and charitable organizations for the Halloween “Buy-Back” program. A record of 1,500 pounds of candy was collected last year and donated to local non-profits. Silberstein Orthodontics brings to their patients decades of orthodontic expertise and a passion for patient-focused orthodontic care to the communities they serve and support on Chicago’s North Shore. Silberstein Orthodontics is located at 1964 Sheridan Rd, Highland Park, Il. Phone: 847.432.3038. www.silbortho.com.
