Crow Island Students Share Love Around Winnetka

Wondering who left you a homemade Valentine card? It could be from third- and fourth-graders at Crow Island School.

If you’ve received a homemade Valentine card while running errands around Winnetka, it could be from a Crow Island School student.

Modeled after a national project called The World Needs More Love Letters, which leaves anonymous love letters for strangers around a community, the third- and fourth-graders at the Winnetka elementary school say they want to brighten someone’s day with a simple act, Chicago Tribune reported.

The project aims to make Valentine’s Day about more than just chocolate and flowers and in the past, students have made cards for children in the hospital, Chicago Tribune reported.
