Cheerleaders Return to New Trier

New Trier High School, considered by some to be an archetype for the American high school, had been missing cheerleaders since 2003.*

With the popularity of other sports, the enthusiasm for cheerleading dwindled in recent years, according to school officials.

But not anymore.

A coterie of cheering students rekindled the spirit, and you can check out the Patch video with new cheerleading squad.

You can catch the squad in action at Friday night's home football game against Maine West High School. Sophomore team plays at 5 p.m. and varsity plays at 7:30 p.m.
