What is Open and Closed Around the North Shore On Tuesday?

North Shore schools will be closed again on Tuesday due to extreme cold.

New Trier High School has already confirmed it is closed on Tuesday, and it seems most other North Shore schools will be closed due to the extreme cold, as well.

Due to the extreme weather conditions expected on Tuesday, the Glencoe Park District has made the following decisions: 
  • Children's Circle Full Day Preschool and Before/After-School Adventures will be open normal business hours (7 AM-6:30 PM)
  • Early Learning Center (ELC) and Glencoe Junior Kindergarten (GJK) preschools and all other early childhood and youth classes are canceled unless indicated below.  
  • The Takiff Center Registration Office/Main Entrance will be open until 7 PM. 
  • All fitness classes will take place as scheduled
  • Open Gym will be offered (10 AM- 3 PM)
  • Dog Obedience is cancelled
  • Hand Build & Wheel Throwing is cancelled
  • All House League basketball practices are cancelled (at District 35 and Takiff Center)
  • Broadway Bound is on as scheduled (3:45-5:30 PM)
  • Youth Basketball Clinic is on as scheduled (5-6 PM) 
  • Adult and Child Karate classes are on as scheduled (4:15-6:30 PM)
  • All Glencoe Park District programs at District 35 facilities are cancelled
  • Watts Ice Center rinks will be closed.Additional cancellations will be posted on (www.glencoeparkdistrict.com) and on the GPD weather hotline (847-835-7720). 

Due to extreme cold temperatures all Winnetka Park District outdoor rinks (including Pond on the Green), all Recreation programs at District #36 schools, Platform Tennis lessons and the WGC Clubhouse (normally closed on Monday-Tuesday during winter months) will be closed.

The A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center (6 am - 10 pm) and the Winnetka Ice Arena (6 am - 11 pm) will be OPEN with all programs and activities running.  The Administrative Office will also be open regular hours (8:30 am - 5 pm).
