In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shootings Newtown, Conn., a member of Glencoe Public Safety Commission told Glencoe News that he wants a referendum to fund a full-time police officer in Glencoe’s Central, South and West schools.
Andrew Berlin says he’s backed by 100 Glencoe residents who agree having cops in Glencoe’s public schools is a good idea, however, the concept is getting mix review among other Glencoe officials, Glencoe News reported.
Back in December, Patch asked readers Should Armed Guards Be in Every School? The article generated more than 200 comments and more than 70 of respondents said more guns are not the answer and wanted tougher gun control laws.
What do you think of Berlin's idea? Should Glencoe have a full-time police officer in each of the three public schools?
