Every picture tells a story, evokes an emotion, and captures a moment. I remember as teenager pulling out a huge box from under my parent's bed to look at pictures of my family from as far back as the early 1900's. I could spend hours going through the images remembering birthday parties, our old house and relatives who had past; imagining what life was like before I arrived; feeling the warm sensation of love as I looked at my parent's wedding album. It was not unusual for me to pass an entire morning going through the box. I love to look at photographs. And my passion is photography.

As a working photographer I am constantly looking around, stopping the car, and grabbing my camera to preserve what my eyes see as an interesting, unique, beautiful or profound image. In this blog I will share some of these images and hope that you, too, will enjoy the emotion and memories that my photographs bring out in you!

Today's image was captured on Michigan Avenue in Chicago one summer afternoon on a visit to the city with my kids. This man was crossing the street - dressed in his best retro suit. I knew he was going to make a great image. But with my daughter in the corner providing context for the actual date, the image became so much more. This image is full of contrast, angles and repetitive objects. Truly one of my favorite spontaneous images.
