Winnetkans Invited to Observe Veterans Day

New Trier Veterans of Foreign Wars will be remembering local veterans at Winnetka Community House on Sunday.

A New Trier graduate will be the guest speaker at this year’s Veterans Day Observance in Winnetka.

Sam Badger was awarded the Silver Star for Conspicuous Gallantry and will be speaking at the event held at 5 p.m. on November 11, at Winnetka Community House.

Winnetka resident Robert Yale will also be presenting the Hadley School for the Blind a $10,000 grant from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation. The grant will support Hadley’s Blinded Veterans Initiative, which Yale helped organize.
