Winnetka to Get New Ice Rink

The new ice rink will replace the current outdoor rink and be open from late November to March 1.

Winnetka Park District Board recently approved a $238,000 bid for a new outdoor rink and a new concessions vendor, the new rink will replace the existing outdoor rink and be open from late November to March 1, Chicago Tribune reported.

The project, which is currently projected lower than originally budgeted, will not impact taxes because the park district raised $190,000 in private donations and $138,000 will come out of the ice arena’s reserve funds, Tom Gullen, Winnetka’s superintendent of facilities told the newspaper.
