Winnetka Seeks Public's Input on Downtown Revitalization

A public hearing is being held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The following is from the Village of Winnetka:

As part of the Village of Winnetka’s efforts to revitalize and strengthen its business districts, the Plan Commission will host a forum on Wednesday June 4, 2014, at 7:30 pm.  The meeting will be held in the Village Council Chambers at Winnetka Village Hall, 510 Green Bay Road.

The purpose of this meeting is to receive public comment on possible changes in the mix of downtown businesses. 

Changes being considered include expanding the types of businesses permitted in the downtown areas to include certain additional “non-retail” uses.

Residents, merchants and other members of the community are invited to comment on changes being considered.

A brief presentation will be made explaining the current retail overlay district regulations as well as options being considered.
