Winnetka-Northfield Library Director Resigns

Tena Wilson says she has never seen a community more engaged in its support for schools, parks and libraries.

Tena Wilson, the District Director, has announced that she is resigning effective August 31, 2012.

Wilson has accepted a position in Ohio as the Executive Director of the Stark County District Library in Canton. Wilson, who joined the library district in April, stated that personal family reasons prompted her decision to return to Ohio where she lived for more than twenty years.

About her short time at Winnetka-Northfield Public Library District, she said, “Never have I seen a community more engaged in its support for schools, parks and libraries. It has been my privilege to serve as library director. I expected to be here a long time.”

“While the Board is saddened by Tena’s announcement, we understand and respect her decision to resign for family reasons,” said Bob Sanfilippo, President of the Board of Trustees. “We wish Tena much success in her new position in Ohio.”

The Board of Trustees will reopen the search for a library director with the previously engaged search firm of Corbus Library Consultants. An interim library director will be named by the end of the month.
