On the Agenda: Winnetka Village Council Meeting

The Winnetka Village Council meets this evening at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall. On the agenda is the adoption of vehicle impoundment and towing amendments, solutions for stormwater managment and an analysis of the 2012 tax levy among other items.

The Winnetka Village Council will meet this evening at Village Hall. 

Their agenda includes:

  • An ordinance that would make changes to the village code regarding vehicle impoundment and towing guidelines. The council will consider adoption of the code amendments.
  • An engineering proposal from Christopher B. Burke Engineering that is aimed at handling stormwater issues in the village, including storm sewer improvements for the Forest Glen and on Greenwood Avenue to provide a 100-year level of protection against future flooding. 
  • An analysis of the 2012 Property Tax Levy will be presented to the village council, including a breakdown of how the portion of property tax bills collected by the village has been reduced from 17.23% in 1997 to 13.36% today. An overview of what is funded by property tax bills also will be provided. 
  • Sign code amendments, in particular relating to campaign signs also will be considered by the village council.
