New Glencoe Park District Executive Director to Start Feb. 20

Lisa Sheppard brings more than 20 years of experience in parks and recreation as well as strong background in public relations, marketing and fiscal management.

 

Lisa Sheppard, who spent 15 years as the recreation director at the Gurnee Park District managing a $5 million recreation and facility budget, will start as the new executive director for Glencoe Park District on Feb. 20, Chicago Tribune reported.

The Gurnee resident will take the reins from Interim Director Steve Nagle and will be paid $120,000 annually plus a $500 monthly car allowance, Glencoe News reported.

Sheppard told Chicago Tribune that she plans to move Glencoe Park District into the digital age, increase use of its facilities by looking at programs to reach a broad segment of the community and keep an eye on the district’s bottom line.

Former Glencoe Park District Executive Director Donald Van Arsdale abruptly resigned from his post in June 2012.
