Hubbard Woods Could Soon Have 12 New Flower Boxes at Intersections

The flower planter boxes are part of a broader initiative to spruce up Winnetka business districts, Chicago Tribune reported.

Winnetka officials are expected to approve 12 new flower planter boxes at cost of $7,900 for intersections in Hubbard Woods as part of a broader effort to spruce up Winnetka business districts, Chicago Tribune reported.

Winnetka council members previously approved hanging 132 flower baskets through the three business districts—Elm Street, Indian Hill and Hubbard Woods—but am now considering planter boxes instead of the hanging baskets for Hubbard Woods because most poles along Green Bay Road are already encumbered with signs, Chicago Tribune reported.
