Glencoe Completes Section of Sheridan Water Main Installation
Sheridan Road detours are still in place as contractors install the water main at two major bridge crossings.
Workers have installed the new water main beneath Sheridan Road between Beach Road and Aspen Lane, according to a village update.
The $3.6 million project, which started near Memorial Day, is installing a new 12-inch water main that will connect to existing water mains on side streets adjacent to Sheridan Road and will provide improved pressure and system reliability.
Work continues this week as contractors install the 12-inch water main at two major bridge crossings. On the Newhall Bridge south of Maple Hill Road, the pipe has been installed and pressured tested. After pipe insulation is installed, contractors will begin work on the Stone Bridge north of Franklin Road, according to a village update.

The $3.6 million project is funded with a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
