Glencoe Blotter: Public Indecency, $6,500 Statue and Vacuum Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Glencoe Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Criminal Damage to Property

Police observed a Port-O-Potty had been tipped over at Central School in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue at 12:50 a.m. July 2.

A business owner in the 300 block of Park Avenue reported someone had spray-painted dollar signs on storage bins at 12:51am July 2.  The damage is estimated at $300. 

Police observed someone had spray-painted smiley faces on the Glencoe Youth Center building in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue at 12:51 a.m. July 2. The damage is estimated at $300.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A resident reported that two cars parked in the driveway of a residence in the 900 block of Forestway Drive had damage to the windshield wipers and blades.  The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. July 1 and 7:30 a.m. July 2. 

Possession of Cannabis

William Deloach, 29, of the 1000 block of Sunset Road, Winnetka, and John C. Matthews, 29, of the 300 block of Cumberland Avenue, Kenilworth, were both charged with possession of cannabis 8:07 p.m. June 29 in the 300 block of South Avenue.  Police initially stopped the vehicle driven by Deloach for speeding, and found cannabis, paraphernalia and alcohol in the vehicle. Deloach was charged with zero tolerance, speeding, unlawful consumption of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal transportation of alcohol.  Matthews was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol, possession of cannabis and paraphernalia.  Both men have a court date scheduled for August 1.

Public Indecency

Highland Park police initially received an emergency call from a runner on the Green Bay Tail stating a man had exposed himself to her at 8:40 p.m. July 3 a half mile south of Lake Cook Road. Glencoe police responded and arrested Michael Amorin, 31, of the 400 block of Ridge Road, Wilmette.  He was charged with public indecency and family services were contacted on his behalf by police. Amorin has a court date scheduled for August 15.

Theft

A resident reported a $6,500 bronze horse statue was stolen from her home in the 1100 block of Sheridan Road between June 9 and June 24.  The resident reported that a number of contractors were working in her home at the time of the theft. Police are investigating.

A resident reported her Visa credit card number was stolen and  unknown offender(s) had attempted to make various online purchases June 29.  The charges did not go through after the resident notified her credit card company.  Police are investigating.

A complainant reported that a Dyson Animal upright vacuum was stolen from the front yard of her rental property in the 100 block of Maple Hill on July 1 between 9:30 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. The loss is estimated at $500.
