Glencoe to Kick Off 20th Annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive

Glencoe to Kick Off 20th Annual “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Holiday Food and Toy Drive at November 25th Tree-Lighting Ceremony

November 4, 2011—The Glencoe Department of Public Safety and Glencoe Human Relations Forum are proud to announce Glencoe’s 20th annual Holiday Food & Toy Drive.  Under the banner of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” this event provides local families and seniors in need with food baskets and children with new toys for the holiday season.  Residents are invited to place non-perishable food items and unwrapped new toys under the tree at the “Light the Village Lights” ceremony on Friday, November 25th.  Donations may be dropped off at the Department of Public Safety at any time from November 25 through December 19.  Gift cards or monetary donations may also be placed in the White Village Mail Box located on Village Court.  And volunteers will be collecting donations throughout the Glencoe business district through December 20th.  Please join your neighbors in making the holidays happy and bright for all.

If you know of a local family or individual who might benefit from this program, please contact Katie Sweeney at Glencoe Public Safety Department (847-835-4112 or ksweeney@glencoepublicsafety.org).
