Winnetka Trustee DUI Court Date Moved to Nov. 26

Skokie police charged Trustee Jennifer Spinney with a DUI on Sept. 6 following a traffic stop near the 9200 block of McCormick Boulevard.

A Winnetka trustee charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and several other traffic violations was originally scheduled to appear in court this month, but her court date has been moved to Nov. 26. 

Winnetka Trustee Jennifer Spinney was stopped on Sept. 6 at 1:41 a.m. after Skokie police said they witnessed her make a variety of traffic violations. 

According to the report, Spinney was driving over the white lane dividers for more than a block and was doing 25 in a 40 mph speed zone. In the report, police said they also had to use a spotlight, air horn and sirens before Spinney finally pulled over near the 9200 block of McCormick Boulevard.

Spinney was observed by Skokie police to have bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred, confused speech and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, the report said. 

The 60-year-old was later released after posting bond.
