Winnetka Police Blotter: Two Burglaries, Theft, Graffiti and Traffic Charges

April 9

Revoked Driver's License: A 54-year-old man from Winnetka was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license in the 300 block of Walnut Street at 4:26 p.m. His court date is May 9.

April 10

Theft: A female reported that someone took her white, 13-inch Apple MacBook computer, which had been left unattended under her coat in the theater lobby at 310 Green Bay Rd., where North Shore Country Day School is located. She believes the theft occurred sometime between 3:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. on April 9. The estimated loss is $1,000.

April 11

Suspended Driver's License: A 34-year-old man from Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license at 4:08 a.m. on Green Bay Road. also cited him with failure to dim headlights and no rear plate registration light. His court date is May 25.

Burglary: A Winnetka resident reported that someone had damaged the front door of an apartment in the 900 block of Green Bay Road and entered sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The resident said that an Apple computer was missing.

April 12

Burglary: A contractor reportedly discovered an open door at a home under construction in the 900 block of Tower Road, and found that someone had taken a Frigidaire gas stove, a Frigidaire microwave and a Frigidaire, 36-inch refrigerator. All of the appliances are stainless steel, and two were still in boxes. The amount of loss is estimated at $3,300.

April 14

Graffiti: A police officer found graffiti on a sign and on a railing in the 700 block of Sheridan Road, and police believe the criminal defacement occurred sometime between 6:30 p.m. on April 13 and April 14 at 1:57 p.m. The Winnetka Park District was notified for removal, which costs $265.
