Winnetka Police Blotter: Teen Received Months of Unwanted Texts Messages

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

March 23

Traffic Arrest - A 41-year-old man from Maywood was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. He was also cited for failure to use a turn signal when required. This arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop. His court date is scheduled for May 9. 

Criminal Defacement - An officer discovered graffiti on the exterior structure beam in front of the business space at 852 Green Bay Road. This may have occurred sometime on March 22. Public works was notified for removal.

A citizen reported graffiti on the Spruce Street side of the Laundry Mall. It is unknown when this may have occurred. The property owner was advised for removal.

Disorderly Conduct - A New Trier student reported receiving numerous unwanted text messages on her cell phone since August of 2011. A investigation is pending.

March 24

Cannabis Activity - Two male juveniles, 15 and 16 years of age and both from New Trier Township, were charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was additionally cited for expired registration. These arrests were made subsequent to a traffic stop. The case was referred to peer jury.
