Winnetka Police Blotter: Repairman Discovers Commercial Burglary

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 9

DUI — A 23-year-old female from Chicago was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was also charged with improper parking on the roadway. This arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop at the intersection of Hibbard and Willow Roads. Her court date is scheduled for March 15.

Invalid Driver's License — A 37-year-old female from Chicago was arrested for driving without a valid drivers license. She was also charged with speeding. This arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop on the 600 block of Sheridan Road. Her court date is scheduled for Feb. 27.

Feb. 7

Criminal damage — A victim discovered that an unknown subject damaged her vehicle. Both left side tires had small holes in the sidewall causing the tires to flatten. This occurred sometime during Feb. 6.

Feb. 6

Commercial burglary — An AT&T repairman discovered that a 40-foot section of 100 pair 26 gauge copper wire was cut and removed from the basement of a building on Gage St. This occurred sometime between Feb. 4 and Feb. 6.
