Winnetka Police Blotter: Juvenile Arrested for Bike Theft

Feb. 12
Theft of a motor vehicle — A vehicle was stolen while it was parked, unattended and unsecured with the engine running on the 500 block of Chestnut Street. The victim left the vehicle at 6:00 a.m. and when he returned at 6:10 a.m., he noticed his vehicle missing. The vehicle was later recovered in Niles on Feb. 13. A suspect was taken into custody by the Niles Police Department at the time of the vehicle’s recovery.
Cannabis activity — A 23-year-old from Chicago was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia on the 1200 block of Whitebridge Hill Road. This arrest was made subsequent to the investigation of a suspicious vehicle parked in the area. His court date is scheduled for March 3.

Theft — A male juvenile from the New Trier Township area was arrested for theft on the 400 block of Green Bay Road. This arrest was made subsequent to a bike theft investigation from Feb. 2 at New Trier High School’s Winnetka Campus. The juvenile came into the to be processed and was released to his parents. He was referred to Peer Jury.
