Winnetka Police Blotter: Boys Mountain Bikes Stolen, Forged Checks

From cannabis activity to someone stealing checks these are the most interesting police reports from the past week.

Forged Checks

Five checks were removed from the administrator’s office at 620 Lincoln Ave., between Aug. 1 and Sept 9, according to police. The checks were later forged and cashed. The amount of loss is estimated at $6,642.

Window Damaged

A window of a building in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue was damaged between Aug. 30 and Sept. 4. The repair is estimated to cost $420.

Bike Theft

Two boys mountain bikes and an air pump were stolen from a storage room in the 1000 block of Gage Street between Aug. 8 and Sept. 8. The loss was estimated at $1,130.

Cannabis Activity

Michael P. Polinski, 24, of 1766 Wood Ln., Mt. Prospect, was issued a citation for cannabis activity after police responded to a report of cannabis odor coming from a condo in the 1000 block of Merrill Street. He was issued an Oct. 25 court date.
