Winnetka Police Blotter: Bike Theft, DUI, Defacement of Village Property, Warrants

April 2

Assist Outside Law Enforcement Agency: During a traffic stop, police discovered that a 29-year-old man from Milwaukee, Wis. had an in-state warrant from the Cook County Sheriff's Police at 4:35 a.m. in the 300 block of Green Bay Road. He could not post bond and was transferred to court.

Criminal Defacement: An employee at 510 Green Bay Rd., where Village of Winnetka is located, reported that the side wall of the administrative trailer had been defaced between March 30 and April 2. The repair cost is estimated at $100.

Theft: A female told police that someone took her ladies, white Schwinn bicycle from a parking garage in the 700 block of Green Bay Road sometime between April 2 and April 3. The bike, which has 24 speeds, a black saddle bag, and other accessories, had been left unlocked. The estimated loss is $800.

DUI and In-State Warrant: A 35-year-old man from Pleasant Prairie, Wis. was charged with a DUI at 2:02 a.m. in the 1000 block of Elm Street. also cited him for driving in the wrong lane, negligent driving, operating an uninsured vehicle and using a suspended driver's license. His court date is April 24. While at the police station, officers discovered an in-state warrant from the McHenry County Sheriff's Police. He posted bond and was released.
