Winnetka Police Blotter: Theft, Criminal Property Damage, Traffic Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Winnetka Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 13

Theft: A victim said that someone stole her wallet during the afternoon at the Winnetka Public Library, 768 Oak St. The wallet was last seen in the victim's purse, which had been hanging on a chair. She described the wallet as a black faux repile skin women's wallet with a rhinestone-covered, heart-shaped clasp. The wallet contained $100, an Illinois driver's license and credit cards. The estimated loss is $400.

Invalid driver's license: A 28-year-old man from Chicago was charged with driving without a valid driver's license in the 600 block of Sheridan Road at 9:31 p.m. Police also cited him for improper lighting on his car. His court date is March 15.

Feb. 18

Suspended Driver's License: A 56-year-old man from Chicago was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license in the 900 block of Green Bay Road at 1:09 a.m. Police also cited him for improper lane usage. His court date is March 22.

Cannabis: A 15-year-old male from New Trier Township was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, including a glass pipe and grinder, at the 1000 block of Pelham Road. The juvenile was referred to Peer Jury.

Feb. 19

Suspended Driver's License: A 40-year-old man from Zion, IL., was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license in the 200 block of Hibbard Road at 9:13 a.m. Police also charged him with operating a car with suspended registration and without car insurance. His court date is March 22.

Criminal Damage: A 17-year-from male from New Trier Township was charged with four counts of criminal damage to state supported property at 3:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Green Bay Road. The charges came after police investigated several incidents that occured on Dec. 18, 2011 in four separate locations around Winnetka. The juvenile was referred to Peer Jury.

Feb. 20

Cannabis: A 17-year-old male from New Trier Township was cited for possession of cannabis at the corner of Abbottsford and Warwick roads at 2:17 a.m. Police also cited him for improper lane usage and for violating driving hours (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.). His court date is March 15.
