Winnetka Man Gets 20 Years for Robbing, Tying Up Family

A couple in their 60s and their adult son were tied up in a closet during the 2008 home invasion.

A 29-year-old Winnekta man and New Trier High School graduate was sentenced to 20 years in prison this week for a Barrington Hills home invasion in which he tied up a couple in their 60s and their adult son, according to an article in TribLocal.

Kuhn Kim has a history of mental illness, and was institutionalized for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, the article says. But the judge said his mental illness was not enough that he couldn’t appreciate the fact that he was committing a crime.

This is very sad; but 20 years? That seems harsh. Are your prisons privately run like they are in Colorado? I bet billionaire James Crown's CC Industries has their hands up I wish someone would break in to James and Paula's house here in Aspen. Note to lawyers: Kidding! They're my neighbors as are their chef and pilates instructor. We live 4 blocks from the crony capitalists. What I find ever more hilarious is that revolutionary [Boy Wonder] David Stockman lives on their street 2 or 3 houses down. We're angry here in Aspen after James and Paula tried to steal from their Aspen Skiing employees---see this sadly hilarious story http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_25218781/aspen-skiing-co-pay-109-000-settle-federal and look for a full page ad over July 4th shaming them in Aspen.

Note: No full page ad here in Aspen tomorrow. I received this from the local newspaper: Hi Lee, I wand [sic] to be clear and honest with you so there is no confusion. We are not going to provide you with any print or online advertising that openly criticizes the Art Museum, the Crown family, or anyone else you may have a problem with. Sorry, but that is the way it works here. Laura Herman Advertising Director Aspen Daily News 517. E.
