Winnetka Blotter: Three Starter Pistols Stolen from New Trier High School
A summary of incidents from July 26 to Aug. 1.
The Winnetka Police Department provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal defacement - An officer discovered two areas of graffiti on the north and south walls inside the Willow Road pedestrian underpass. Public Works was notified for removal and repair.
July 30

Theft - A man discovered his sewage pump, 100 foot long orange extension cords, and a 150 foot long blue hose from fenced in property on the 00 block of Locust Road at 1 p.m. This occurred sometime earlier in the day. The amount loss is estimated at $500.
July 29
Theft – A man discovered his unlocked bicycle was removed from the driveway on the 600 block of Garland Avenue sometime in the last several weeks. The bicycle is described as a red men’s mountain bike worth about $600.00.
July 28
Cannabis activity – Anderson J LaFontant, 20, of Kenilworth, IL, Catherine H. Gavin, 18, of Winnetka, IL, and Natalie G. Tolbert, 19, of Wilmette were charged with possession of cannabis on the 400 block of Cherry Street at 4:48 p.m. Their court date is scheduled for Aug. 26.
July 27
Theft – An employee discovered three New England Company starter pistols missing from a secured locker in New Trier High School's Winnekta campus. The amount of loss is estimated at $777.00.*
Identity theft – A man on the 1300 block of Asbury Avenue discovered fraudulent charges made on his credit card. These charges occurred sometime between April 11 and June 27. The amount lost is $706.65.
July 26
Theft - A man discovered his unlocked green Schwinn Hybrid bicycle was removed from the bike rack area at New Trier High School at 8 a.m. This occurred sometime earlier in the day. The amount of loss is estimated at $150.00.
Traffic arrest – Sergio Gonzalez, 33, of Chicago, was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license. He was also cited for not having his load properly secured to the back of his truck. This arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop on the 1200 block of Ash Street at 1:21 p.m. His court date is scheduled for Aug. 26.
