Winnetka Blotter: Minor Cited for Alcohol; Arrest in Multiple Burglaries; Missing Planters

A summary incidents reported to police from April 11-16.

The following items are taken from the Winnetka Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Please e-mail the editor with any questions or to provide proof of expungement.

April 16

Minor in Possession of Alcohol: A 17-year-old in the 100 block of Mary Street was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol and responsibility owner-occupant for allowing underage drinking at 9:26 p.m. His court date is June 7.

April 14

Burglary Arrest: Nicholas Rodriguez, 20, of Chicago, was arrested on charges related to the two burglary incidents. One involved a report of a missing license plate and the other involved electronic and other items taken from a car parked in a garage. Both incidents occurred in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.

Rodriguez was stopped by police at 12:46 a.m. after a caller notified authorities of a suspicious person in the area. His court date is April 19.

Police also found Rodriguez with a car that was reported stolen in Des Plaines. He was charged and the Des Plaines police were notified.

April 13

Theft: A business owner in the 500 block of Chestnut Street reported two missing 3-foot-tall cement planters that were located outside the business. They were taken between March 31 and April 1. The loss is estimated at $500.

April 11

Traffic Arrest: Cesar Antonio-Flores, 29, of Chicago, was arrested at Cherry Street and Ridge Avenue at 5:46 p.m. He was charged with driving without a valid driver's license and cited for improper lane usage. His court date is May 19.

Traffic Arrest: Edwin Olvera, 20, of Chicago, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and cited for a red light violation that occurred at Green Bay Road and Pine Street. Olvera was also found to have an outstanding warrant from the Illinois State Police, who took over custody of him. His court date is May 5.
